FWIW I would rate mine as perhaps the worst handling car I've ever driven. it's awesomely comfortable but you sure as hell don't wanna be throwing it into a corner fast and expecting it to come out the other side in one piece! part of this is why I love it so much.

Yeah, I've driven Cedrics for waaaay too many years and I know how they handle. When I was nutting out what I was going to do to the coupe, I decided early on that the stock suspension wouldn't be right for this car. So along with a lot of the other systems on the car, the suspension got upgraded.

The only "changed" bits were the front springs fom Jumboz and Koni adjustable shocks front and rear. Everything else is stock Nissan, the front bar is from a stock 330 wagon, the rear is a stock 16mm jobbie from a 330 sedan and the rear springs have been reset to something lower by Jumboz as well. As far as the wheel alignment, the guy who did it said he gave me as much negative camber as he could without 'modifying' the inner guards. Strangely, on the 330's more negative is possible with a slightly different shape in the critical zone. Tyres and wheels are a personal choice, the Dunlops were recommended to me and I only use them on the track. For the street I use Michelin Pilot sports.

Nothing radical, just tweaked to suit my needs. :)

Took the 260 for a drive today to the beach. Launching hard in 1st gear the car struggled for traction which was obviously going to happen
When I ease into the power reasonably gentle it gets traction and gets up to speed quite well. The car goes well considering it is the sherman of the datsun world.
Felt good to drive it again, now its time to get my finger out and finish the 1600 so I can hear the roar of twin webers!

hey wormtail, those h190 diffs can take a fair bit of a hiding, as long as you dont do any skids etc. I know of a 130 in nz running a rb30det through a stock diff. has had no worries.

plus, im only 7 hours drive from you and I have 2 spare h190's that you can have for free!

to gain some camber at the front you can shorten the upper arm, which is not that easy, or slightly modify the lower arm which is only a 2 hour job wheels up to wheels down!

What modification do you do to the lower arm?

I'm considering cutting and shutting some upper arms.
