hey guys
im finally at the last stages of my L16 restoration. This picture here will show you what I need help with.
there are a total of 3 holes on the manifold that need to have either hoses or block offs going to them.
the one with the arrow is just another hole on the side, you just cant see it so I put an arrow there.
now I have the big chunky hose thats engine coolant im sure and a VAC hose from the canister, I think its the purge one which is written on the canister.
I also have that valve in my hand, plus another hollow one. the one in my hand is a check valve I think, it has a moving piece inside it.
oh but I think one of the holes should go to the extractors, just not sure which one.
what can you guys tell me.
thanks

For the OEM carb. and manifold, there should be a coolant return connection forward of the carb. mounting flange on the manifold: -

Depending on the type of carb. fitted, you might also have the fuel hoses shown above.

The rattly bit in your hand is the PCV valve, Positive Crankcase Ventilation.
That screws into the inlet manifold and connects to the engine crankcase as shown: -

Once again, depending on the level of Emission Control the engine has, you may have the Flow Guide Valve fitted to the fuel tank vent lines: -

However, having re-read your post, I am assuming that the L16 you are playing with is in a Stanza right?
Oh well, here is the same but different for the A10: -

The EGR valve is connected to the exhaust pipe: -

That might keep you occupied for a little while

Screw the PCV valve into whichever of the circled holes has the correct thread. Plug the other one. Also plug the hole indicated by the arrow.
The larger of the two hoses you've circled looks like the one which goes on the PCV valve. If the other end of it is on the crankcase breather pipe, then it is the PCV hose.

The photo also shows one of the fuel hoses (either supply or return) is not yet connected to your Weber.
What is the other end of the smaller diameter hose you've circled connected to? If it goes to a steel fuel line then it is probably the fuel return hose (I think post 1976 Stanzas had a return line but they may not. If they don't, use a blanking plug on the carby's return pipe). If it goes to a little valve thingy bolted to the strut tower then refer to Graeme's handy diagrams above (Hint- it's in the second of the A10 diagrams). You'll be able to figure it out from there.
