Hi,

I need some photos of the rear of the 180/200B engine showing the crank flywheel boss and the detail of the mountings?

Also need the crank protrusion in relation to the gearbox bell-housing mounting plane?

This should be about 20mm, face on which the flywheel is mounted is proud of the back of the engine.

I am in the country don't have access to an engine out of a car .

Regards
Cas

Not 100% sure what you're after here ?

I have a few engines lying round, can get whatever pics you want if you clarify.

Dave,

just a photo of the back of the engine with the flywheel off.
Looking along the line of the crank, rear to front.

Protrusion of crank -
rearblock face at right angle to crank or gear box mating (bell housing) area , crank extends slightly out so flywheel is out from the back of the engine.
The distance for the crank-flywheel bolt-up face is what I need?

Cheers
Cas

Crank protrusion is around 11.5mm from rear face of block to rear face of crank. The sheet metal plate between the block and bellhousing is around 1.6mm, so the actual protrusion from the bellhousing face to rear of crank is near enough to 10mm. Figures are from notes I took when adapting an S15 6 speed to an L18 block.

I'll take a few pics tomorrow, engines are down in the shed.

Dave,

sounds good.
Any chance of the fly-wheel bolt circle diameter?

Here's some pics. Will get PCD tonight. Keep in mind that 180B (L18 engine) has 5 flywheel bolts, 200B (L20B engine) has 6. To be honest, I'm not sure if the PCD is the same despite the differeing number of bolts ? I have both cranks.

Top view is an L18 engine, rear view is a Z18 (same as L18), that's the only engine that was easily accessible and had the flywheel off.

Hi Dave,

your a legend!
This is just what I need .
The L20B with 6 bolts is what I need .

If you can give me an idea of the PCD that would be great?

Cheers

Will try to remember to get down the shed tonight, I have an L20 crank I can measure.

PCD is 60mm (measured with vernier callipers, so pretty accurate)

Dave,

need a single pipe outlet exhaust manifold for 1600-200B engine ?
something more compact , even with a manifold a bit like a SD22.

I am fitting a 200B engine to an old Fiat petrol tractor !
I put the engine in with a lot of work,a lot of work and need an exhaust .
Nearly ready to start it , just oil and coil.
Cant get parts for the old Fiat engine so what can I do?

The engine is in but the 200B manifold is too low at the down-pipe join ,then there is the chassis rail,so something with a single pipe or higher joint?

Any clues on a manifold?

Cheers

Most I've seen are very similar (1600 / 180B / 200B ). Maybe something like a 720 ute may be different ??

Your best bet might be to get a set of extractors, some exhaust pipe, a hacksaw, and a welder.

"Maybe something like a 720 ute may be different ??"

Does the 720 use a ohc 1600-2000 engine ?
What utes use the OHC engine?

Most 720 utes (well, the petrol ones anyway) use an L18.

I'm only guessing they may be different to fit the different chassis in the ute, I could be completely wrong.
