whats the easiets and most reliable 4cyl engine upgrade for a 1200 ute? I was thinking a sr20, would I then have to upgrade brakes or diff? wat fits in the lil 1200's? any info would be great cheers

What state are you in? If looking at the DET forget it. Most states have rules which will prevent a SR20DET conversion legally. Maybe look outside the box. 13B? or CA18DET would be my choice.

Any engine is only as reliable as it's builder and maintenance

im in queensland. ohok yea im trying to keep it a nissan engine, wat engine usually comes out in the 1200? if I upgraded would I have to upgrade anything else? im just trying to get a bit more knowlodge as im looking at buying a lil 1200 ute for a daily to drive to work ect. something a bit less thirsty then my fairlady z32 im driving at the moment.

What engine usually comes out in the 1200? A 1200cc engine (A12) Going bigger engine? Need better brakes

Simple upgrade, get a A15 engine and box out of a Datsun Sunny, and bigger brakes straight bolt on from a Stanza. Cheap to do

Not simple, any of the later turbo engines. Expensive to do
